Home of the Wolves

Dear All,

Autumn is here, leaving August through October as a memorable blur!  The students have the experience of the first day and a first report card under their belts and are staying busy with academics and extracurricular activities. The PTA is proud to be a part of this cycle and during this season of thanks, we’d like to thank you.

Thank you for joining the PTA!  We achieved our goal of 100% membership by the end of September, which qualifies us for the Platinum Award for Membership from the Georgia PTA.  This recognition identifies our PTA as one with parents and teachers who are committed in their support of our PTA programs and believe that the PTA has a positive impact on the students’ school experience.

Thanks to all of you who have volunteered your time and talents to the PTA.  So many activities have been successfully planned and completed thus far, that it is difficult to name them all, or all who have contributed, so we will highlight a few.

·         The WolfPack Nights program has already brought students and families together for ice cream, bowling, and pizza.  Thanks to Ronda Harris for providing these opportunities for our families to bond with each other and with local businesses.

·         The Dig In Day found our families planting bulbs and trees, laying pine straw and generally beautifying our campus.  We have never seen the campus looking so pretty, especially with the drought!  Jacqui Hopkinson is magical!

·         The Reflections Committee has been busy with this year’s competition. They received 75 entries this year and feel that each shows great talent.  Thanks to Chuck Truett for leading this effort.

·         The new Box Tops incentive program has collected over 11,000 Box Tops so far this year, awarding prizes to students and homeroom classes that have turned in the most. Thanks to Deborah Fulghum for this program’s success. Keep clipping!

·         The Mini-grant committee has reviewed and approved 20 teacher-requested grants so far this year. These grants allow teachers to purchase curriculum-based materials to enhance what they teach in order to enrich our childrens’ learning experiences. Thanks to Michelle Pastore and her committee for their work on this program.

·         Red Ribbon Week was a huge success this year.  The students learned all about the benefits of living drug-free and had fun with it.  Thanks to Stephanie Percynski, Ann Inman, and Cyndi Dunn for leading this campaign.

Any PTA Board Member will tell you that there are plenty of activities in store for the coming months.  Check out our Calendar and see what you will participate in next.

Please enjoy this season of thanks, as we thank you for all that you do to make a difference at River Trail,
