African Library Project
RTMS, under the leadership of teacher Mary Peterson, has collected thousand of books for the African Library Project. They already have almost 4000 books to send, and haven't even started the RTMS book drive yet! Forty students joined the first-ever African Library Project Club, and they are super excited to see all this happening. They meet once or twice a week and they work hard!
Ms. Peterson and the African Library Project Club are looking for assistance with shipping the books to New Orleans to offset the expense of $500 per 1000 books. They have solicited funds from area business but are also hoping to find an RTMS parent who has some connection to UPS or FedEx that can assist the discounts or ideas for getting the books shipped! The founder of the African Library Project shared that other book contributors have benefited from the assistance of FedEx employees who requested charitable shipping of the books to New Orleans. This would be a huge help in shipping, cutting the cost in half.
If you can help or have questions, please contact Ms. Peterson .
